Voyex LOHC for construction sites

Voyex LOHC offers construction sites autonomy in their electrification journey. The transition towards using Voyex LOHC is also affordable and as easy as it gets.

These are some properties that make Voyex LOHC attractive to use at construction sites:

  • A drop of 10 tons of LOHC+ brings 20MWh of energy (LHV) to the construction site.

  • Maximise efficiency through using the exhaust heat of the genset to extract hydrogen.

  • Permitting will be fast and easy as the liquid is safer than diesel.

  • The LOHC is brought to your construction site using standard diesel infrastructure.

  • Using 100% green hydrogen in combination with a genset based upon ICE technology and EURO VI & VII standards enables a zero-emission construction site

Voyex LOHC for Maritime applications

Voyex LOHC enables the maritime sector to achieve safe, easy and efficient zero-emission operations.

The most obvious reasons to choose Voyex LOHC for maritime applications are:

  • Voyex LOHC is stored in standard tanks. With smart tank management, the implication on ship payload is minimized.

  • The Voyex de-hydrogenation system utilises the exhaust heat of an internal combustion engine (ICE) for hydrogen release.

  • The high hydrogen storage capacity in the Voyex LOHC (60 kg H2 / ton LOHC) provides long autonomous range.

  • The ICE can run fully on hydrogen or use hydrogen in a dual-fuel set-up with Gasoil to reach 40-60% CO2 reduction. This dual-fuel setup can be achieved with existing engine blocks to heavily minimise operational risk.

  • You can continue using current operational procedures. Voyex LOHC is non-combustible, non-corrossive, non-carcinogenic, a toxicity profile similar to diesel and a much higher flashpoint than diesel.

  • Voyex LOHC+ and LOHC- is liquid above -15° C and is stored at ambient temperature and atmospheric pressure.

  • Voyex LOHC can be made from recycled plastic and biomass, serving as a carbon sink while accelerating your zero-emission future.

Voyex LOHC for hydrogen transport and storage

Low-cost green hydrogen will be produced where the sun and wind are abundant and strong. At these locations, hydrogen will be bonded to Voyex LOHC and prepared for shipment across the world seas. As we can re-use existing infrastructure like product tankers and port terminals, we offer a bright future for existing assets. 

Here is why Voyex LOHC is a winning solution for hydrogen transport and storage:

  • Voyex LOHC has a safer profile than diesel due to a significantly higher flashpoint and a similar toxic profile. Consequently, Voyex LOHC is expected to require similar safety precautions as for transportation and storage of diesel.

Voyex LOHC for long-distance trucking

Voyex LOHC can make the transition to zero-emission fuel convenient for long-distance trucking. The Voyex LOHC is stored in standard tanks that contains a flexible bladder to optimize tank capacity. The high hydrogen storage content enables long stretches of autonomous trucking.

At the back of the driver cabin, a small de-hydrogenation set-up is integrated that uses the waste-heat of the hydrogen Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) to release hydrogen.

  • 1.500 liters of LOHC+ in the tanks that are currently used for diesel, offers between 80-90kg of Hydrogen which equals a range of 800+km. 

  • Using 100% green hydrogen with an ICE that meets EUROVI & VII standards, is recognised as zero emissions by EU authorities.

  • Refueling takes place at normal stations and is as fast and easy as refueling diesel. 

  • Voyex LOHC+ and LOHC- is liquid above -15° C and is stored at ambient temperature and atmospheric pressure.

  • No need for AdBlue or other after-treatment solutions.

Voyex LOHC provides great flexibility for industrial sites. A first example is when there is demand for hydrogen and no pipeline sources are available, then the LOHC allows for storing large amounts of green hydrogen on-site in a safe and affordable manner.

In another example, Voyex LOHC offers a zero-emission solution for peak and/or off-grid electric power to industrial users by integrating it with a genset. This configuration enables continuation of the electrification of industrial processes, which may otherwise be hindered by current stress on electricity grids.
